Hebrews 12:2 We must never stop looking to Jesus. He is the leader of our faith, and he is the one who makes our faith complete. He suffered death on a cross. But he accepted the shame of the cross as if it were nothing because of the joy he could see waiting for him. And now he is sitting at the right side of God’s throne.
Jesus endured the cross and denied comfort for the joy set before Him. Likewise, Kingdom citizens endure hardship because of the joy and reward promised by God. Denial is temporary; joy is eternal.
Prayer: Father, help me keep my eyes on the joy set before me. Strengthen me to endure through self-denial for Your glory.
Declaration: I endure the cross with joy, for my reward is eternal.
